Review: Sally Hansen’s PM Lip Plumper

Sally Hansen PM Lip Plumper
Another random whim purchase- Sally Hansen’s PM Lip Plumper. It’s semi-affordable for around $10 at local drugstores. The packaging is pretty and spa-like: a baby blue tube with crisp silver-look screw on top.

The PM Lip Plumper instructs you to apply at night and you’ll wake up to fuller lips. Hmmmm… well, my lips were certainly more moisturized the next morning, but they weren’t really any plumper. I think if you have typically dry lips, this treatment will plump them up by adding moisture and helping you retain it. But if your lips are already on the moist side, you may not see much difference; but the good side is this product doesn’t have that awful burn of most plumpers. It feels just like a lotion and applies with a white-ish tinge to your lips. It does sink in rather quickly, impressive in that aspect.

For completeness, here are the ingredients:

Water, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Glycerin, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Beeswax, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 Methicone, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Isopropyl Myristate, Hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Behenate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Shea Butter – Butyrospermum Parkii, Allyl Methacrylates Crosspolymer, Retinol, Polysorbate 20, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tribehenin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Green Tea Extract – Camellia Sinensis, Soluble Collagen, Grape Seed Oil – Vitis Vinifera, Soybean Oil – Glycine Soja, Apricot Kernel Oil – Prunus Armeniaca, Aluminum Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Flavor, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Retinyl Palmitate. offers the PM Lip Plumper for $9.99 for a tube, or pick one up at your local drugstore or mass market retailer (Target, Wal-mart).

Nice watermark:)

I start at this SH display every time I’m in Walgreens. It’s so pretty! I’m waiting for a BOGO so I can get some Lipnotic gloss.

actually i bought this last week on the Monday and when I tried it, it felt kinda like numb but it was my first day using it! it started working at one day! it’s day 3 for me as my lips were plumper! the secret is I always massage my lips before bed and morning with a toothbrush! After I use the Sally hansen pm lip plumper. it actually works for me! Maybe for some people are different, maybe some won’t work. and I always do excersize for my lips like holding my other fingers onto my top lip and bottom lip after massaging my lips with toothbrush. I just do it about 1 minute! it does the job!

Denise, Thanks! 🙂 It is a gorgeous display, isn’t it?

Shine, I’m so glad you had good luck with this product. It’s further proof that all of us are unique and some products work for some and not others. The lip massage technique you do sounds interesting! I’m sure that helps get the blood flowing to your lips as well (which in turn, assists in plumping them up).
And Welcome to Bionic Beauty!! I hope to see you around here more often. 🙂

Re. Sally Hansen PM Lip Plumper, it did not do a thing for me, and I waited until I used up the entire tube to speak up. Also, I put it on when I went to bed, and when I got up in the am, my lips were all parched and dry, so it was obvious that it wore off very quickly.

I love this stuff! Put it on before bed and I wake up with fuller, plump lips. Also feels awesome when you put it on.

Hi Shelley, I’m so happy to hear it works for you! I used up my tube awhile ago now, and I’m on the hunt for something new to test out… Any suggestions?

All my best,
