Shades of green (nail polish) from Barielle

If there’s one color nail polish lines seem to neglect, it’s green. Yet every blog I visit, I find some mention of people seeking green polish, the blogger/editor longing for green polish and even friends asking me where to find a good green polish.

Barielle listened.

Barielle produces a line of nail polishes called Shades. With an exceptional range of colors to chose from, it’s no wonder this line is a hit. They’ve also got some lovely manicure, pedicure, lotions and scrubs that I’ll be reviewing in the upcoming weeks.

First up, Sweet Addiction. A true teal cream with no glimmer, Sweet Addiction bubbled a bit for me on first application. But I was also trying out a new base coat. Once I put it over my normal base coat (CND’s Sticky) everything was peachy.  Wear was okay- I got my normal 2 days. But the color is great for summer. My camera does not shoot teals and turquoises very well. They always pull too blue. So expect this color to have more green than shown in the photograph below.

Decadence is actually more of a turquoise than my camera shows. There a touch more green to the color. It’s still a pretty shimmery color and very similar to Sally Hansen’s super hard-to-find Honeydew polish. Decadence is actually the closest dupe I can find.

And my personal favorite… Date Night. This color is drawing rave reviews from gals who adore green polishes. It seems its what we were seeking. Deep, shimmery dark forest green. Not too cool-toned, not too warm toned. Like Baby Bear said “it’s just right”.

Shades nail polishes by Barielle are $8 each on There are 46 colors to choose from.

I’ve never wanted green nail polish… until right now! So pretty and festive – like a spring party on your fingers!
Which sounds really bizarre (in a good way).

Cheap Chick, I like your description!! It’s right on the money. Ha! I made a “green” funny! 😉

Date Night is gorgeous. I think it would make a great shade for fall! Ya know, match the Xmas tree. I hope you get to try out their total foot care cream- totally decadent!

Sherry, Date Night is truly gorgeous, you are correct! I got the Barielle 60 second manicure/pedicure and their mud foot cream which I’ll be reviewing soon. Which ones do you have?

Yup! Comments encourage people to write even more. They are like psychic wages that inspire you. On the other hand, they also offer constructive criticism by which you can improve.

Gabby, Thanks! You are absolutely correct about comments. Plus I love hearing from my readers. Some bloggers/editors go by readership or page views… for me, I love getting comments. I guess I enjoy the “community” aspect of it all!

This shade is good for one day – St Patty’s day and then I would recommend taking it off immediately and leaving it off until you find yourself in Ireland drunk in a pub!

Tracy, Oh no! 🙂 Not a fan of the green polish? That’s okay… I know it’s not for everyone. I adore them, but I’m pretty crazy with my color choices even around the house.
Welcome to Bionic Beauty by the way. I’m so happy you stopped by and commented. Hope to continue to see you around the website!

Alexis, Yep, the “funky” colors are very in. I’ve noticed some celebs wearing multiple colors on their hands. I admit I’ve done that, but usually only because I’m swatching tons of colors for you ladies! 🙂

My favorites are all the neons for summer. LOVE them!
