Sinful Colors Manicure and Pedicure

I love nail polish… it’s one of my great weaknesses. But thankfully, I’m not stuck on name brands or labels. My collection includes OPI, Maybelline, Revlon (although these are hard for me, too thick and they take for-ev-er to dry), Mary Kay, Sally Hansen (Love these!), Avon, CoverGirl, China Glaze, Wet n’ Wild and quite a few no names I’ve had for years.

My new discovery is Sinful Colors (I found mine at Walgreens). These polishes come in every color under the rainbow and are only… ready?… $1.99. WOW! I figured even if I didn’t totally love them for less than 2 bucks, I’d still wear them occasionally.

So here’s my manicure with Sinful Colors in Daddy’s Girl (photo was after a full 2 days):

Sinful Colors manicure in Daddys Girl polish

Daddy’s Girl is a dark purple jelly with really pretty red sparkles. I love standing outside and staring at my nails with this on. I used Seche Clear for a base coat and Seche Vite for a top coat (both available at salons, Sally’s Beauty or CVS).  It actually wore really well! I typically chip my manicures in under 24 hours (this is why I only paint my fingernails about 3 times a year) and this lasted 3 days before I touched it up a tiny bit. Impressive. It was a little thick to apply and I did have to apply 3 coats of color.

Please read on for my pedi and pictures…

Even though I rarely paint my fingers, I always paint my toes. I consider them little artistic canvases. You can express your creativity or your mood. And I don’t follow trends here either. I’m quite happy to sport navy blue in June or neon pink in winter. Who cares? If you want color in winter, go right ahead. It’s a great pick-me-up. 🙂

So here’s my pedicure… this is Sinful Colors What’s Your Name topped with Pearl Harbor:
Sinful Colors pedicure in Whats Your Name and Pearl Harbor polishes

What’s Your Name is a black polish with very subtle blue and turquoise glitter (you won’t even see the glitter once it’s applied). Since they shimmer disappeared, I chose to top it with Pearl Harbor which is a clear polish with turquoise and teal tiny glitter. The result is blue with glitter in some light (outdoors- above) and black with glitter in other light (indoors). I love it and it’s lasting super well!

All in all, I’m pretty happy with my bargain nail polishes. I also picked up Show Me the Way (a grungy shimmery green). These are a great way to try new colors and round out your nail polish collection on the budget-friendly side!

I *love* the Sinful Colors polishes. I put up a twitpic on Friday of my nails with “San Francisco” on – it’s a gorg green color. It cracks me up that I have had two over 60 women both compliment my nails with this color on.
I totally agree, so many colors to try for so little money. Wait till they go BOGO!

Lydia, Yah! What’s Your Name is really great and perfect for cooler weather!

Paula, Isn’t it funny how greens to seem to get people to comment on your polish? And there really are not enough green nail polishes. I went into Sally the other day and found two- and those were both neon green. So I passed. I have the Sinful “Show Me the Way” green on my toes now. LOVE it!

Joycey, Let me know what colors you get. 🙂

Victoria, Thanks. I just noticed there’s some “pull” back on my top coat in the mani picture. Totally my fault since I slapped one of those “super fast” top coat dryers on and it shrunk up the polish a little. Oh well… still looked pretty though.
