Star Trek Into Darkness Inspired Manicure

by Bionic Beauty on 15.May.2013 · 4 comments

I’m dedicating this manicure to all female Trekkies and their continuing voyages to boldly go… with awesome nails!…

Hopefully I’m not the only one who is super excited for the new Star Trek movie, Into Darkness, which opens tonight! (Insert geeky squeal here.)

To show my fandom, I decided on a simple but meaningful nail style.  The main color is Bella’s Vampire by Gelish – a very dark purplish burgundy.  I added tiny Star Trek “Command” emblems on my ring finger using a silver no-name nail art pen; then drew in the elongated 5-point star with a black Sharpie.  I added a bit of extra starry bling with a holographic shimmer top coat – just on my ring fingers.

A quick top coat of Seche Vite and I was done!

Now I’ve just got to calm my excitement until I can see the movie!  Any Bionic Beauties heading to the midnight premiere tonight? Or will you be waiting for the crowds to subside a bit?

Live long and prosper…

Hi Rachel, Thank you for the compliment *and* I hope you enjoy the Star Trek movie. I saw it on Thursday evening and it was awesome! Funny bits, excellent action, amazing character depth & interaction, and perfect plot twists!

I’d love yo hear what you thought as well… Spoiler-free, of course, for all the Bionic Beauties who haven’t seen it yet. 🙂

Cheers, Jami

OMG – it was AMAZING!!!! I loved it! I really like Benedict Cumberbatch (who played Khan) and I loved the way it followed the original film but not slavishly. There are some killer lines in there, laugh out loud moments and genuine pathos. But basically it’s all Zachary Quinto for me… gotta love the Spock! 🙂

I totally agree on pretty much everything you said. 🙂 Quinto is amazing as Spock. Actually I love the entire cast. The casting company for this “reboot” really knocked it out of the galaxy (ha!) when they signed all these actors and actresses.
