Summer 2009: Switchflops and Purple Potion

by Bionic Beauty on 19.May.2009 · 4 comments

Mmm… summer! Time for sandals and pedicures. Or at least that’s what the season means to me. What’s my favorite look this summer? I LOVE the neon-esque nail polishes. Most of them have a cool duo-chrome or glimmer affect to keep the neon from looking ghastly.

My absolute favorite is Sally Hansen’s Purple Potion nail polish from their Hard as Nails line. This isn’t a new color, it’s readily available, and very affordable- making it a true winner in Bionic-land. The color is a medium, brilliant purple loaded with blue glimmer that has a really cool duo effect in the sun. In some light it’s purple, in others it’s blue.

To complete my summer pedi look, I’ve got me some new flip-flops… Switchflops! These are super-cool (and very comfortable for those of us who are normally in pain while wearing flops) flip flops that allow you to switch out the bands and ribbons for a totally new look. I’ve got the basic brown flop and picked up 6 different ribbons (feel free to click the photo above for a larger size). A complete shoe wardrobe and it’s a space saver in my closet!

I’m hooked, honestly. I babble about my SwitchFlops endlessly (just ask my sister). And the nifty factor is fun too. I run to the bedroom, rip off the velcro and throw on the next ribbon. Words cannot express my happiness.

Switchflops are available in some stores or online at Stay tuned later this week for an interview with the SwitchFlops creator, Lindsay Phillips! Look for Sally Hansen’s Purple Potion at your local drugstore, Target or Walmart.

I am loving those flip flops! Accessories for your shoes – how fun is THAT?

I’m also a big fan of Target’s flips. Cheap and readily available all summer long :)

I love the shoes! I can’t decide on a combination. Are they comfortable? I have fred flinstonish feet and would hate to have a velcro mishap!
