In February, Walmart offered free samples of Jergen’s Natural Glow Express sunless tanner. After a few weeks of sitting, I had the chance to give this a try. I have to mention this was one of the nicest sized samples. It was a large packet with a full half ounce of product.
The lotion was rich and super creamy- very moisturizing and smelled wonderful! It actually seemed more like a body butter than a lotion; however it still sunk in relatively quick. But it did not seem to color my skin, even after 4-5 days worth of use. For this reason, it would be great for sunless tanner beginners, but if you are looking for more color, I would not recommend this product. It, however, is a fantastic lotion and if used daily as your sole moisturizer would probably build up a bit of color on your skin.

As someone who is in LOVE with the Jergens Express, I have to offer a big tip here for all sunless tanning friends: GO DARKER! I am a whitey-McWhite Pale person, have been since birth. You can see veins, internal organs, everything straight through my skin. Naturally, I should get the “Fair skin” shade, right? However, I bought the darker shade of the Express tanner and I have LOVED it. I saw benefits in just a day, and by the end of 3 days, I had people complimenting me and asking me where I went to the lake that weekend. If you’re going to give this a chance, make sure you buy the darker one – I’ve converted 8-9 of my friends into believers. It’s really a great product and it’s worth giving it a shot – especially for the price tag and ease of use. It even works well on the face (with a layer of lotion underneath)!
Katie, Thank you SO much for that tip! I’m sure that will help the Bionic readers out on choosing which shade is best for them. I didn’t get a choice on my shade since I just requested mine from Walmart’s free sample program, but when I purchase more, I’ll take your advice into account.

Maybe I’ll have to try it again. I did what BB did and grabbed the Medium Tones tube and saw nothing. But after Katie’s post, I think I might have to Jergen a second chance at winning over my heart… and skin.

I love this product! I am naturally whiter than Casper the Friendly Ghost, so even the light shade is perfect for me. It’s the only self-tanner I’ve tried that really doesn’t streak and lasts for a long time!
For an uber-pale person like myself, Jergens is perfect. It offers the right amount of color vs. non-streaking. If you have ANY color in your skin, look elsewhere. If you are vampire-pale, like myself, Jergens is the place to go!
Great minds think alike! I’ve been using this and I love it too! Although it’s a little too much color for me, I don’t use it everyday. Every 2-3 days works just great for me – long lasting AND cost-effective?! I’m definitely sold – thanks for reaffirming my love in Natural Glow Express
I tried this tanner and I didn’t have any problem with streaks or funky color.
