Top 8 Classic Beauty Products

by Bionic Beauty on 30.Aug.2009 · 25 comments

Total Beauty recently published a collection of “8 Classic Beauty Products You Still Worship”. Some of my favorites are on the list including Noxema face wash.

Two that wouldn’t have made my list are Vaseline- it’s fallen off my radar. I used to slather my feet with Vaseline until I heard about the possible skin darkening properties. And Chanel No. 5 just isn’t the right fragrance for me. I have two small bottles and just never wear it… plus it’s so dang expensive!!

If I made the list I’d have to include

  1. Johnson’s baby oil,
  2. Noxema face wash,
  3. Chapstick,
  4. all natural Witch Hazel,
  5. Lancome’s BiFacil eye makeup remover,
  6. NARS blush in Orgasm,
  7. John Frieda Frizz-Ease hair serum, and
  8. cult favorite Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in Black Honey.

What items do you think should have made the list? What would be your top 8 classic beauty products?

Ahhhh Victoria, how did I forget the Root Awakening products??? And I also love the L’Oreal HIP pigments and Kohl liners (as you know). And then there’s the L’Oreal Sulfate Free EverPure shampoos and conditioners… those are fabulous.

Ok, so my list should’ve been a bit bigger. :)

I got free samples of like all the John Freida products, so now I’m hooked, plus I had like 3 deals I combined, so the $7 shampoos were only $3, so I should have plenty for a while!

I love the Loreal Sulfate Free Everpure shampoos and conditioners too, those will be the next thing I’ll have to stock up on!

I know you love chapstick, so do I, but have you ever tried Nivea lip balm/gloss? I traded some of my freebies I had for some Nivea lip balm and gloss, and I absoulutely LOVE it! I kept putting it on so often my family told me my lips were going to fall off! It’s really creamy. I have 2 of the unflavored/clear, 2 of the and cherry/ light red tint, 1 red lip gloss, and 1 light pink gloss, and love all of them. I highly recommend them!

be careful with that baby oil, the same thing that can make skin darken is in that too. just liquid.
there are a lot of really good natural oils for babies that I have found to work really well. believe me I was a baby oil girl until I heard the yuck.

I am not so sure mine would be “classic” as I have become green and the classics are not really green but I will give it a shot.

1. jojoba oil or almond or avocado good for hair, skin and make up.
2. skinny skinny lip balm
3. ferro mineral makeup
4. mabeylline eye pencil
5. neutorgena’s build up shampoo (though I don’t need it anymore)
6. any decent pomade, I don’t need hairspray anymore!
7. coconut oil (replaced my baby oil habit)
8. E/O bubble bath
9. Epsom Salts
10. bentonite clay

Hi Karissa, I guess my list above was more of a general beauty fave list. Not specifically for me. I would have not listed Baby Oil and instead listed Jojoba oil since it’s definitely one of my must haves. Plus there’s the Aztec Secret mask that I use weekly (which is your #10).

What is the E/O bubble bath? Sounds divine!

geez only 8?

Diorshow Mascara-original
ybf anything I may have goes everywhere-if I have any
Estee Lauder Double wear long lasting lip -WOWser
Dior addict Catwalk mauve to finish my lip look
Photo Op undereye by Smashbox
Tanda blue light for acne
Hair leave in conditioner/detangler– probably by phyto? Profound Beauty? One of the 2
Smashbox Halo
Toning Wipes with anti-acne or some form of lactic/AHA/Glycolic/Salicylic to control skin and keep it clean and clear

Loaded Question Jami!!!! How can I limit, see I need sunscreen too, hair clip’s, am I doing for the day or night?

Then I would also bring MAC eyebrow pencil-best color ever for blondes

My addiction would overtake anything—–tooth whitening pen…..
You see my dilema? Sigh….

Super Question, sorry I cheated and added more

******If you have something expensive like a Tanda, be careful, I just had my truck broken into at a concert…lost my new Tanda light, and my Smashbox Halo, and a Serge Luten’s Lipstick, Dior Mascara, Dior Lip glosses, over $500 in cosmetic’s I use daily and now will have to replace on my own….So if you aren’t going out for long, really rethink the possibility of theft, purse snatching, etc.*********

Just trying to share a hard lesson learned to hopefully make you all be careful!

Peace Out Sista’s

Hey Stacy, What type of wash cloth do you use? I’ve been using those microfiber wash cloths lately. They are a bit soft which is perfect for my face. I love them!!

I normally use just a cheap white one. I have dry skin around my nose and those seem best at getting it off.

Hey that’s funny!! You learn something new about Wordpress everyday (which is the blog “platform” that I run BB on). Funny lil smiley shortcuts. I wonder what other funny ones we can find…

:-) Yup, too funny how platforms affect what we type.
