The Top Drugstore Hair Conditioners

by Bionic Beauty on 27.Sep.2009 · 5 comments

Total Beauty released a list of the “top rated” drugstore hair conditioners. The ratings are based by reviews of users of Total Beauty.

Go ahead and have a look. Have you tried any of the items on the list? I know if you’ve been a reader of Bionic Beauty for awhile, you’ve certainly received freebies of these products. I like the Herbal Essences Hydralicious (here’s my Hydralicious review) , but I certainly don’t believe it’s number 1. There are two obvious conditioners missing from this list- John Frieda’s new Root Awakening conditioner (in case you missed it- my review of Root Awakening) and L’Oreal’s EverPure conditioner (my absolute favorite and you can tell from my glowing review). Both in my experience are MUCH better than TiGi’s Bed Head (is that really drugstore anyhow?), and certainly much better than some of the other contestants.

What would you top drugstore conditioners be?

Pantene was all over the list, but did it nab the Number 1 spot?

What we all want: soft, silky, shiny hair. What we all need: to save some cash (especially these days). The solution: one of these drugstore hair conditioners. TotalBeauty.com readers say all the conditioners on this list gave them salon-worthy hair at bargain bin prices; it’s the perfect combination!

See all the conditioner contenders…

No. 14: TIGI Bed Head Superstar Conditioner, $11.99

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 9.1

“I get softness and amazing body from this conditioner …

No. 13: Aveeno Nourish + Moisturize Conditioner, $6.99

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 9.1

“With just one wash my hair looked and felt better …

No. 12: Garnier Fructis Fortifying Body and Volume Conditioner, $14.99

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 9.1

Readers say this lives up to its name. “This conditioner leaves my hair softer without bringing it down and making it look thinner …”

Hmmm, I don’t totally agree with the list either. I tried bed head (won it in a giveaway), and it did nothing for my hair, I switched right back to my john freida stuff, john freida should have been some where on the list instead of bed head, and bed head is SOO expensive for not even doing anything for my hair!!

I don’t think herbal essences should have been #1, it should still be on the list, but not #1, I like it, but my favorite part of it is the nice smell, not the hair conditioning qualities.

I gotta say I am in love with L’oreal’s EverPure Conditioner. I just bought the moisturizing shampoo and the volume-enhancing conditioner last week. I was really impressed! Normally I only buy professional hair care products but it was easy to make the switch to the EverPure line.

It IS amazing, isn’t it?!? I think it’s better than most pro products. People are really going to go nuts if they give it a chance. Plus the price is so perfect. My hair is soft, frizz free, has volume, etc. I know I sound like an ad, but this is AWESOME stuff!!

Herbal Essences “Color Me Happy” conditioner is #1 on my list! It’s ultra affordable and makes my hair super smooth and shiny….. Also love Ouidad’s Deep Conditioner, “Great Stuff.”

Hi Kirsten, I just got the Ouidad Deep Conditioner. I’m testing it now. I like it okay, but it’s not as moisturizing as I had hoped. But then again, my hair is really worked out. I’m always filling it with products, flat irons, dryers, new sprays, hair colors, bleaches, etc. :)
