It didn't make my hair crunchy or brittle or stiff, just pliable enough to hold twisty waves and such. But I did try spraying it in my hair before blow-drying once (just to experiment) and the hot hair-dryer made it kind of stiff. So, my lesson learned- spray in *after* your hair is dry and then do the beachy-waves as a dry style (which is what I normally do anyhow). :) Hope this helps!! It's really a super product!
